Our Mission
The Rains Foundation was created by our friend, Steve Rains, to help deserving students from the Upper Cumberland region attend Tennessee Tech University. Since its founding, the Foundation has awarded over $325,000 in scholarships to 177 students from Cumberland, Fentress, Morgan, Pickett, and Putnam counties—a legacy Steve was deeply proud of.
Thanks to the generosity of our participants and volunteers, our annual charity golf tournament has become the primary source of funding for these scholarships. Since Steve’s passing, his wife, Emily, along with their children, Jack and Lyndon Kate and their many friends, has continued this important work with passion and purpose.
While there are many charity golf events each year, we believe you’ll find ours to be a little different. This is more than a fundraiser—it’s a FUNdraiser with golf at its heart, community in its soul, and opportunity as its mission.
